Central European railfreight company, 2010 Completed financial and operational due diligence of a major rail freight company for a multi-lateral lending institution.

MAV Cargo, 2007 Advised the RDC consortium bid to acquire the Hungarian state-owned railfreight company. The consortium was shortlisted but decided not to submit a final bid. 

CTL Logistics, 2006 Advised Macquarie Bank and RDC consortium bid for largest private rail freight operator in Poland.

Cargo Slovakia, 2005 Advised FirstGroup Plc to bid for state-owned railfreight company. Although shortlisted, FirstGroup decided not to prepare a final bid. 

Ofotbanen, 2004 Led investor group which acquired an interest in an independent rail operator carrying passengers and freight in Norway and Sweden.  

WestRail Freight, 2002 Supported the Babcock & Brown/GBRf bid to acquire the Western Australia government freight railways.

GB Railfreight, 2001 Founder-Director for new freight rail company which has won contracts hauling bulk cargoes such as coal and gypsum along with intermodal container trains between deep sea ports and inland terminals. GBRf also operates trains for track maintenance and renewals on Britain’s national rail and London Underground networks. GBRf was named “Rail Business of the Year” in the HSBC Rail Awards 2002.

Orissa Port, 2001 Assisted International Sea Ports in collaboration with NM Rothschild. to evaluate options for developing rail access to a new port in Dharma, Orissa, India.

Edelaraudtee, 1999 Led GB Railways in acquisition of a passenger and freight railway in Estonia, the first fully privatised railway in the former Soviet Union.  

Malawi Railways, 1999 Led GB Railways bid to acquire Malawi Railways.
